Canadian Payroll Association honors Brigus Learning with the Partner Award

At a gala on June 19, 2014, the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) presented the 2014 Partner Award to Brigus Learning. The Partner award is given to an organization "for outstanding work in helping the CPA to achieve its ongoing objectives." We are thrilled and honored with this prestigious award. The following is the text of the presentation speech given by Patricia Glithero of the CPA:

This award is presented to a private or public sector organization for outstanding work in helping the CPA to achieve its ongoing objectives.

Tonight’s winning organization has always been supportive of the CPA’s education strategy, to ‘Deliver Payroll Education to respond to the regulatory compliance requirements of employers/payroll practitioners’.

Always professional, and never shy about new approaches, this company has been a guiding force in the CPA’s strategy to provide high quality compliance payroll courses and curriculum to members and employers.

The organization was a key player in the redevelopment of the CPA’s certification programs, and the launch of the core courses in the Payroll Compliance Practitioner and Certified Payroll Manager programs. When the CPA developed its certification programs in 2003, they were instrumental in helping to identify the needs of adult learners, the curriculum and the learning outcomes for the PCP Program.

They also helped launch the pilot courses for the CPM program - and played a key role in redeveloping CPM materials in 2011 to better meet the needs of payroll managers.

As adult education specialists, this company’s principal partners work closely with CPA staff and subject matter experts, using learning principles to design the programs, for both the classroom and on-line learning environments. We also often rely on them, in their capacity as educational specialists, to provide assessments and feedback on important initiatives related to education governance, standards, process and policy. The company’s principals have presented at CPA Coordinator and Instructor Conferences, and are always enthusiastic participants in the CPA’s annual Certification Recognition Events.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to present this year’s Partner Award to Brigus Learning Incorporated.I ask Mollie O’Neil and Knut Larsen to come up to accept the award on behalf of the Brigus Learning.
